D. Wayne Thompson joined the company in 1983 after leaving a position as a reservoir engineer at Exxon. He is currently Assistant Manager for D&M’s North America Division.

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from Eastern New Mexico University in 1973 and a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1979 and received an honorable discharge with the rank of Captain. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and has served on the SPE Computer Applications Committee. A registered professional engineer in Texas, he was named a Vice President at D&M in 1985 and Senior Vice President in 2011.
