Roman A. Sedykh joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton’s Moscow office in 2017 as geologist in the Reservoir Studies Division specializing in geological modeling and field development optimization. Before joining D&M Roman was an Operational Geologist in Sakhalin Energy Investment Company. He was responsible for the selection, planning, design and evaluation of new wells including the interpretation of real-time well data.

Roman graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in Geology and Geochemistry of Fossil Fuels in 2006. He is a member of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). Roman is fluent in Russian and English.

Major Projects

Roman is involved in several field development optimization projects for different Russian oil and gas companies. His responsibilities include review of original data and existing geological models, analysis and interpretation of input data, building detailed geological models and providing recommendations on geological modeling issues, data gathering and field development optimization. He has extensive experience and knowledge of geology of different oil and gas provinces within Russia with focus on Western Siberia and Sakhalin.
