Thomas H. Schmidt joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2006. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology from the University of Arkansas in 1995 and 1997, respectively. His master’s thesis was a study on the subsalt hydrocarbon potential of the Paradox Basin of Utah in the United States. He retains membership in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Dallas Geological Society, and the Geological Society of America.

Major Projects
Schmidt has studied conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including basement fractures and steeply dipping fractured quartzites. He has also been involved in evaluating the fractured Hamra quartzite reservoir in the Illizi Basin of Algeria and many fields in Romania.
