Clifford F. Tompkins joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2006 after working as a seismic and wireline field engineer for Schlumberger.

Tompkins graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in geology from Florida State University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, Dallas Geological Society, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Tompkins is a licensed professional geologist in the State of Texas and an AAPG-certified petroleum geologist.

Major Projects

Since arriving at D&M, Tompkins has focused primarily on the geological aspects of oil and gas field and reservoir studies, as well as reserves estimation and classification based on geology and geophysics. Tompkins carries knowledge in petrophysics, stratigraphic and structural analysis, mapping, and characterization of reservoirs containing gas, condensate, and oil. He has performed geological evaluations of fields in Europe, Southeast Asia, Northern Africa, the former Soviet Union, specifically the Orenburg, Western Siberia, and Timan-Pechora regions, Alaska, onshore and offshore Texas and Louisiana, and deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
