Senior ESG Professional – Dallas, TX

DeGolyer and MacNaughton (D&M) is seeking a senior-level team member with extensive knowledge and substantial experience in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and decarbonization services and is prepared to lead multi-disciplinary teams assisting our clients in their corporate sustainability goals. The successful candidate will possess technical expertise on key issues related to ESG programs, policies, and initiatives for clients around the world, inclusive of decarbonization, emissions accounting, energy transition, and greenhouse gas (GHG) storage reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in a multidisciplinary team assisting our clients in the energy industry to meet their ESG and decarbonization goals in the complex and evolving policy and regulatory environment associated with Corporate Sustainability and ESG.
• Review/analyze/create client programs and policies and provide recommendations related to enhancement and improvement of their sustainability objectives.
• Lead teams performing ESG and decarbonization projects, which will include the application of skills related to project coordination, client management, ESG analysis, reporting, and presentations.
• Manage client relationships, expand business development opportunities, and provide guidance on internal personnel training on sustainability and ESG disciplines.
• Support clients in their ESG-Decarbonization inventories, verification, and validation certifications.
• Oversee D&M’s ESG practice, ensuring quality and timely completion of projects.
• Establish client workflows for Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions, baselining and defining pathways to reduction.
• Mentor team members to develop necessary skills, monitor their performance, and support their professional development.
• Apply proficiency in public speaking, including the ability to present to clients and professional organizations.
• Maintain clarity of understanding and knowledge of world carbon markets and regulatory regimes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, including engineering, energy, ESG, sustainability, etc.
• 10+ years of industry experience, preferably in a consulting capacity; 3+ years of experience in an ESG role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Holding one or more certifications in an ESG subject matter.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% annually.
• Deep knowledge of global, regional, and local ESG/Sustainability and Decarbonization reporting standards, for example (but not limited to) 45Q, ISO, GRI, API, SASB, etc.
• Experience with sustainability consulting is preferred (including sustainability strategy, reporting, and impact measurement).
• U.S work authorization is required.
