Joseph K. Ellis joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2007. He is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive background in 3–D workstation seismic interpretation, prospect generation, field development, and reserves analysis.

Prior to joining D&M, he worked for 16 years with Landmark Graphics of Houston, Texas, as a technical advisor for geoscience applications. Prior to Landmark, he spent 15 years with Shell Oil Co. in seismic acquisition, interpretation, and field development.

Ellis earned a bachelor’s degree in geology with high honors in 1974 from the State University College at Oneonta, New York. In 1975 he was awarded a master’s degree in geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy, New York. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the Dallas Geophysical Society and is a Certified Texas Geoscience Professional.
