Iñaki Javier Barrangu joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2024 as a senior engineer, specializing in gas reservoir engineering. Prior to joining D&M, Barrangu worked for 10 years at Pan American Energy as a reservoir and production engineer. He has 11 years of experience in the industry.

Barrangu graduated from the National Technological University in 2014, where he obtained his degree in chemical engineering. In 2022, he completed a post-graduate degree in petroleum engineering from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA). He has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2019.

Major Projects

At Pan American Energy, Barrangu participated in numerous projects across several basins. He contributed to the unconventional development of the Aguada Pichana Oeste field, performing type-curve analysis, rate transient analysis, and development plan optimization studies. Additionally, he was involved in exploratory evaluations of the naturally fractured Margarita gas reservoir operated by Repsol in Bolivia. In the Austral Basin, he worked on debottlenecking the Fenix project, an offshore field operated by TOTAL.
