Carlos Larrinaga joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2024. Prior to joining D&M, Larrinaga held senior positions in reservoir and production engineering across various companies, contributing to production optimization, reserves booking, digital transformation initiatives, and reservoir and field management. He has over 10 years of experience in the industry.

Larrinaga graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA). In 2023, he completed a master’s degree in data science at the University of San Andres (UDESA). He has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2010. He is fluent in Spanish and English and knowledgeable in German and Portuguese.

 Major Projects

Since joining D&M, Larrinaga has led the technical and economic evaluations of diverse engineering projects. His work includes analyzing onshore and offshore assets, optimizing processes for strategic decision-making, and conducting reserves evaluations in accordance with the standards of the SEC and PRMS.

 

Before joining D&M, Larrinaga led waterflood projects and managed over 600 wells simultaneously, utilizing advanced engineering techniques to enhance production and optimize recovery strategies. He has also developed simulation models, conducted field surveillance, and prepared investment opportunity portfolios, showcasing his comprehensive expertise in reservoir management and development.
