Major Projects

Betancourt has extensive experience performing reserves and resources evaluations in compliance with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Petroleum Resource Management System (PRMS) across conventional and unconventional oil and gas fields in the United States (including the Alaska North Slope, California’s San Joaquin Basin and coastal region, Texas, New Mexico, and the southeastern United States) and internationally.

He has worked with interdisciplinary teams to perform technical assessments across conventional and unconventional plays, including completion optimization, reservoir modeling, well performance analysis and forecasting, and field development planning. He has also led reserves and resources evaluations encompassing low- and ultra-low-permeability reservoirs, secondary oil recovery operations (waterflood and steamflood), tertiary carbon-dioxide-enhanced oil recovery, and geothermal projects, applying reservoir engineering principles to resource characterization, production forecasting, and economic assessment.
