A 20-year industry veteran, Yarick Ionnikoff joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2018 as geologist and specialist in geomodeling. Prior to joining D&M, he worked for 4 years for Ruspetro as head of geosciences. Prior to that, he worked for several international exploration and production companies (Shell, Maersk Oil, Mubadala, PTTEP, and Total).

Ionnikoff earned his bachelor’s degree in physics in 1994 from the University of Sophia Antipolis. He earned a master’s degree in geosciences and geotechniques from the same university in 1995. He received a master’s degree in computer science and petroleum geosciences from the University of Paris VI and Ecole Nationale Superieure de Geomatique in 1997. Ionnikoff has published numerous papers in his areas of specialization, and he is fluent in English and French and understands German, Thai, and Russian. He was named a Vice President of D&M in 2023.

Ionnikoff has worked on green and brown oil and gas field projects in a variety of complex geological settings (clastic, carbonate, and fractured metamorphic, both onshore and offshore) in Southeast Asia, Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan, the Middle East, Nigeria, the North Sea, and Russia.
