Charles F. Boyette is Executive Director of DeGolyer and MacNaughton. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm. He joined D&M in 1982.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1991. Boyette is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, and he is a registered professional engineer in Texas.

Major Projects

He has carried out reserves estimations, production forecasting, and economic evaluations of oil and gas fields worldwide. Boyette has gained international experience by conducting reservoir engineering and deliverability studies on fields in the Gulf of Thailand, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. In particular, he participated in a gas-deliverability and reserves study for financing a major gas pipeline project in the Gulf of Thailand, another proposed pipeline to deliver gas from Turkmenistan, and a gas-deliverability study for several fields in Uzbekistan dedicated as part of the financing of a potential gas chemical complex. In Russia, he has participated in a waterflood feasibility project and other appraisals in Western Siberia and Sakhalin Island. He also has performed reservoir evaluations of fields in Italy, Tunisia, Canada, and the United Kingdom North Sea.

Boyette has served as project manager and reservoir engineer for a Chinese state-owned oil company’s initial public offering of stock on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. This work involved the estimation of reserves, production projections, and economic analyses on over 300 onshore China fields, with extensive coordination with the company and its financial, legal, and accounting advisors.

He has coordinated major reserves studies for potential acquisitions and international lending agencies in the Gulf of Thailand, China, Kuwait, North Africa, Russia, and the North Sea. He has conducted seminars for multinational oil companies and government associations in SEC reserves compliance and SPE reserves estimation guidelines. He has made presentations to lending institutions and government representatives and is experienced in the determination of fair market value. Boyette worked at Amoco Production Company from 1980 to 1982 as a production engineer in Brownfield, Texas, and is experienced in workovers, well logging, completions, and analyzing injection-well data.
