Jason Macikanycz joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2017 and serves as a Senior Systems Analyst and Vice President. Prior to joining D&M, Macikanycz worked in the renewable energy and financial services sectors in Chicago, supporting critical enterprise networks and server platforms.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Network and Communications Management from DeVry University in Addison, Illinois, graduating cum laude, and holds Microsoft and Cisco certifications. He was named a Vice President of D&M in 2022.

 Major Projects

Macikanycz provides enterprise infrastructure and IT operations support for reservoir engineering, geoscience, economics, and simulation teams, and is responsible for highly available computing environments, large‑scale data storage platforms, and secure systems required to support global petroleum consulting projects. Macikanycz has supported infrastructure and data platforms for national and international oil company consulting engagements, including projects requiring large shared‑storage and simulation environments to support field development planning and reserves evaluation workflows. His responsibilities have included storage re‑architecture, system upgrades, performance optimization, and system stability maintenance during critical project milestones.

He has also supported international client teams and extended training engagements by preparing secure computing environments and managing multi‑version petroleum software platforms. This work has included licensing coordination, controlled data access, and capacity planning to support concurrent internal and external project demands.
